13-Year-Old Autistic Florida Boy Found Dead in Lake – Crime Online

A 13-year-old Florida boy who vanished from the Maitland area Saturday has been found deceased.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a statement Monday after discovering Na’Sean Kirkland’s body Sunday night at Lake Sybelia.

“It is with sadness that we report the child is deceased. Our prayers go out to Na’Sean’s family, loved ones and community,” the statement read.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Na’Sean was last seen at around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, while leaving home with his brother, in Maitland. The brother, who is also autistic, returned home without Na’Sean.

Family members told police that Na’Sean is attracted to water and vanished without shoes. Na’Sean’s parents stated that he had left home several times before, and found by nearby pools and water.

OCSO’s helicopter and water rescue unit were subsequently seen at Lake Sybelia, WESH 2 reports.

According to WFTV 9, the discovery happened after someone spotted a body a little after after 7 p.m. Sunday. Officials pulled him from eight feet of water.

The lake is situated near Thurston House Bed and Breakfast, which is located near the child’s residence.

“If you would like further information, please call the Maitland Police Department at 407-539-6262,” FDLE added.
