Texas police reportedly believe a 16-year-old girl who was found deceased on Tuesday was murdered.
Lizbeth Medina’s mother told KHOU that she found her daughter dead at their Edna apartment after she did not show up to a Christmas parade. The mother said Medina was in the cheer squad and was set to participate in the parade.
According to the Victoria Advocate, Lizabeth Medina’s mother left work and went to the parade, but did not see her daughter in the cheer group. Medina’s aunt said the teen was found dead in her pajamas — suggesting she was killed that morning.
Edna police said they are investigating Medina’s death as a capital murder, though additional details were not disclosed. No arrests have been made.
