A 17-year-old Kentucky boy has been charged with murder after deputies found a woman and her 12-year-old son dead inside an Allen County home.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Office said it was called to the home on Wednesday for a “domestic assault” and found two victims.
“A short time later a suspected [sic] was apprehended,” the sheriff’s office said without providing any further information.
Kentucky State Police, which is heading up the investigation, said that a 17-year-old had been arrested and charged after deputies found 42-year-old Traci Trasky and the child dead inside the home. Trasky’s vehicle was missing, and deputies later found it abandoned some miles away.
State police said the suspect was seen running through the woods nearby and was taken into custody following a foot pursuit.
He’s been charged with two counts of murder, tampering with physical evidence, auto theft, and fleeing or evading police.
The suspect has not been publicly named. Trooper Katan Parker told WNKY that Trasky was the mother of the murdered 12-year-old.
Older social media posts show Trasky with two young boys and a man.
Police did not say how mother and her son were killed.
