A 19-year-old man has been charged with the stabbing and beating deaths of his father, his’ father’s girlfriend, and his half-brother in a Bronx apartment building on Sunday.
New York Police officers found Jonathan Rivera, 38, stabbed to death in the hallway of the building and found Hanoi Peralta, 33, and 5-year-old Kayden Rivera dead after breaking into an apartment when they spotted the boy through a window, as CrimeOnline reported.
Investigators believe Jayden Rivera was babysitting Kayden Saturday night. When Jonathan Rivera and Peralta returned home, the teen stabbed and beat the with a pot, leaving it bent, WABC reported.
Neighbors said they heard the screaming but apparently did not call police, and the bodies weren’t found until later Sunday morning.
Police said the 19-year-old went to his mother’s apartment after the murders, and she called an ambulance for him Sunday afternoon when he said he was hearing voices. The ambulance took him to Westchester Medical Center, where he reportedly said he had killed someone.
A search warrant for his mother’s apartment turned up bloody clothing and a pair of sneakers that matched a bloody footprint at the crime scene, police said.
