2 Arrested in Deadly ‘Targeted’ Shooting at Las Vegas Homeless Encampment – Crime Online

Las Vegas Police have arrested two people for a deadly shooting at a homeless encampment last month.

Cristobal Omar Perez, 31, and his girlfriend, 21-year-old Kylee Au Young, have been charged with murer and battery with a deadly weapon, Lt. Jason Johannsen said. A third person is still at large.

Police said Timothy Brenton and Ashley Burrell were killed in the “targeted attack” and three other people were wounded in the December 1 shooting, KSNV reported.

Investigotors say a black SUV dropped off Perez at the encampment and then parked nearby while Perez walked into the encampment and opened fire. After the shooting, he ran across the street to the getaway vehicle, which took him to another location, where Young was waiting in a different vehicle.

Detectives said they believe the shooting followed a dispute between Perez and a relative, but they do not have a more precise motive.

Young appeared in court on Friday and was ordered held without bail, KTTU reported. Perez did not appear at his hearing but was also given no bail.

Police are still looking for the driver of the first getaway vehicle.
