SAVANNAH, Ga. (TCD) — Two men have been indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly bombing a woman’s house one day after she moved in and plotting to kill her daughter.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Georgia announced 37-year-old Stephen Glosser and 34-year-old Caleb Kinsey were charged with stalking, use of an explosive to commit another felony, conspiracy to use an explosive to commit a felony, and possession of an unregistered destructive device. Kinsey has also been charged with false statement during the purchase of a firearm and possession of firearms by a convicted felon.
According to the statement, between December 2022 and January 2023, Kinsey and Glosser allegedly surveilled the victim “with the intent to kill, injure, harass, or intimidate,” and in the process, used a destructive product. The plans they devised allegedly included shooting arrows through the victim’s front door, buying and freeing a “large python into the victim’s home to eat the victim’s daughter,” sending dead rats and animal feces in the mail, scalping her, and bombing her home.
Glosser reportedly found out where the victim lived and mapped out her home. Then, Kinsey allegedly built the explosive that was used to blow up the victim’s house on Jan. 13.
WSAV-TV reports Bryan County Sheriff Mark Crowe said there was “some sort of relationship” between the victim and one of the suspects.
The victim’s home exploded in the early hours of Jan. 13, 2023. The Bryan County Sheriff’s Office said the woman and her family moved into their home one day earlier, but none of their personal items had made it in yet. No one was injured and most of the damage occurred in the garage. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives took over the investigation.
Kinsey and Glosser were arrested in February 2023.
The victim told WSAV her new residence was her “dream home” and she wanted to start fresh after her daughter’s father passed away. The new house also meant more space for her daughter to play.
The men could face 20 years in prison if they are convicted of the conspiracy charge.
