2 people, 1 dog dead following alleged road-rage stabbings by State Department employee

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (TCN) — A state trooper fatally shot a man who had allegedly stabbed four women and a dog following an altercation over a car accident.

According to WJLA, the incident began March 1 with a crash in the southbound lanes of I-495, also known as the Capital Beltway. The outlet reports a state trooper confronted 32-year-old Jared Llamado while responding to a road-rage incident involving a knife.

Four women and a dog were found at the scene suffering from stab wounds, WJLA reports. Michelle Adams, 39, died from her injuries, as did the dog. The other three victims, 36-year-old Dana Bonnell, 37-year-old Mary C. Flood, and 40-year-old Heather Miller, are recovering after being treated, WUSA reports. Llamado died of his injuries at a hospital.

Investigators believe the stabbings were not random and that the motivation was road rage following the car crash, the Augusta Free Press reports.

WTOP reports that according to his LinkedIn profile, Llamado had been working at the State Department for about a year and a half in a technology role.

WJLA reports the trooper who shot Llamado is on leave pending the outcome of the investigation into the use of force. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
