3 Suspects Arrested in Philly Bus Stop Shooting That Wounded 8 High School Students – Crime Online

Philadelphia police have now arrested three suspects in last week’s bus stop shooting that left eight high school students wounded.

Authorities announced on Monday they had arrested Jamaal Tucker and Ahnile Buggs, both 18, charging them with attempted murder, aggravated assault, weapons offenses, and other charges, WPVI reported. They are being held on more than $2 million bail.

On Tuesday, police said they arrested a third suspect, but no details have been released.

Police were looking for four suspects — three shooters and the driver of the getaway car, which was later found abandoned. Police released surveillance video of the shooting last week, which showed the shooters running to the bus stop as the bus pulled up and opening fire before running back to the car.

All eight of the victims were students at Northeast High School and had been waiting on a bus at about 3 p.m. on March 6 at the corner of Cottman and Rising Sun avenues, as CrimeOnline reported. The three gunmen got out of a dark blue Hyundai and ran across a parking lot, fired more than 30 shots, and jumped back into the car for their escape.

The victims ranged in age from 15 to 17. One of them, a 16-year-old boy, was shot nine times and remains in critical condition, WPVI reports. He was the intended target, police said.

In addition to the Hyundai getaway car, police found a second vehicle they said was connected with the shooting. Both had been stolen.

Police are on extra patrols in the area as a result of the shooting and another one last week in which a student at another high school was killed. Two other students and two passengers on a bus were wounded. Police are investigating to see if the two shootings might be related.
