4 Arrested in Disappearance of 2 Kansas Women En Route to Pick up Children in Oklahoma – Crime Online

Four people have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of two Oklahoma women who vanished two weeks ago while on their way to pick up the children of one of them.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation told KSN three of the people were arrested in Cimarron County and the fourth in Texas County. All four are being processed in Texas County, where the search for 27-year-old Veronica Butler and 39-year-old Jilian Kelley has focused.

The two women were driving from Hugoton, Kansas, to pick up Butler’s children from a birthday party in Eva, Oklahoma, but disappeared before they got there, as CrimeOnline reported. Their vehicle was found March 30 on a dirt path near Oklahoma State Highway 95 in rural Texas County near the Oklahoma-Kansas border.

Sources reported that “puddles of blood” were found near the vehicle and that the women may have been shot, but that information has not been confirmed by officials, who have previously said that a small amount of blood was found inside the vehicle.

Butler and her estranged husband are in the middle of a custody dispute over their children, and she had asked 10 days prior to the disappearance to see her children more often. She also reportedly asked for full custody.
