4 Bodies Found in West Tennessee May Be Connected to Infant Abandoned in Stranger’s Yard – Crime Online

Police in a northwestern Tennessee county are investigating an abandoned infant abandoned in a stranger’s yard and simultaneously four bodies found in a neighboring county.

The Dyer County Sheriff’s Office has not confirmed the two incidents are related but reported on both in the same Facebook post.

The 7-month-old baby girl was dropped off just after 3 p.m. on Tuesday in Tigrett, the sheriff’s office said. The little girl was in a car seat. By late afternoon, investigators said they had identified the baby and were looking for three people — Cortney Rose, Matthew Wilson, and Adrianna Williams.

Facebook posts from family and friends say that Wilson and Williams are the child’s parents, and Rose is Williams’ mother. Other posts from the area indicated the baby’s uncle was also missing.

Then, later in the evening, the sheriff’s office announced that it was assisting deputies in neighboring Lake County, where the bodies of four people were found.

“The identities of the deceased are currently being withheld pending notification of next of kin,” the sheriff’s office said. “The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have been requested to respond to assist with this incident.”

“This is a deeply saddening day for our community,” Sheriff Jeff Box said. “We are committed to uncovering the truth and ensuring justice is served.”

Lake County officials did not make a separate statement, instead reposting the Dyer County statement.
