EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (TCD) — Law enforcement officials are investigating a quadruple homicide after a SWAT team entered a home and found four people deceased.
On Dec. 6 at 11:40 p.m., the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office dispatch center received a call about a shooting on the 21000 block of Akawi Way. Deputies arrived at the residence shortly after midnight and found a male outside with non-life-threatening injuries.
The sheriff’s office contacted the Tactical Support Group — which comprises SWAT teams, negotiators, K9s, robots, negotiators, and more — for assistance. The SWAT team eventually made their way into the home and located the four victims.
The El Paso County Coroner’s Office identified the victims on Dec. 12 as 54-year-old Desiree Vandelac, 57-year-old Robert Vandelac, 22-year-old Peyton Vandelac, and 30-year-old Debray Scott. Their cause and manner of death will be determined after receiving autopsy results.
The deaths are being investigated as homicides.
