A New York man is behind bars on federal sexual exploitation charges as the search for Madison Fields continues.
According to FOX 19, police arrested Kyle Lawrence, a married father with children, last week in Buffalo, who made his first court appearance Friday.
The Colerain Township Police Department (CTPD) stated Lawrence had previous interactions with Madison. Although he has not been directly charged with her disappearance, he’s facing charges that include:
- Transportation of child pornography
- Transportation with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity
- Travel with the intent to engage in illicit conduct
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Madison was last seen February 13 at around 4 p.m. in Cinncinati, leaving the the InTown Suites on Colerain Avenue.
She reportedly left to meet an 18-year-old named “Josh,” whom she met on Session, an encrypted messaging app.
However, while reviewing security footage from Madison’s home, police saw her get into a black Jeep Grand Cherokee with New York license plates in January.
NBC 5 reports that license “plates readers and receipts” confirmed that Lawrence rented the vehicle two weeks before Madison vanished. On January 31, they reportedly stayed together at a Cincinnati hotel.
An arrest affidavit indicated that Lawrence admitted to chatting with Madison on Snapchat and meeting up with her twice in Cincinnati.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Ohio, Lawrence was also the target of a “citizen vigilante group” who faced him in 2024.
The group confronted him when he allegedly traveled to Canada to meet with a child for sexual purposes. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children also received at least two cyber tips about him.
FBI agents subsequently removed items from his home, including electronics with evidence of child sexual abuse materials.
Meanwhile, several law enforcement agencies, including the FBI in Cincinnati and Buffalo, are working to find Madison.
Madison was last seen in camouflage pants, a black “Champion” hooded sweatshirt, and black shoes. She left with a black backpack and a white grocery bag.
She’s described as a white female who weighs 125 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040 or the Colerain Police Department immediately at 513-385-7504.
