5-Year-Old Boy Still Missing After Dad Is Arrested for Explosives in Home – Crime Online

Alabama authorities are still searching for a 5-year-old boy who vanished on Wednesday.

Johnathan Boley was last seen in Walker County, and Sheriff Nick Smith said Boley’s 6-year-old brother saw him crossing under a fence into the woods. Citing authorities, WIAT reported that Boley’s father was arrested after explosive materials were found in his home during a search.

According to the news outlet, the FBI is at the scene because explosive materials from previous detonations were discovered in the woods.

“Neighbors have identified that there’s been a lot of explosions in the neighborhood,” Smith told WBRC. “Prior to us being here, the morning before we got out here, there was a report at about four in the morning of a loud explosion.”

1819 News reported that helicopters with thermal imaging searched for Boley but found no sign of him. Amid concerns of explosives, the ground search for Boley resumed on Thursday.

Smith said the missing boy’s father, Jameson Boley, 40, is charged with unlawful manufacturing of a destructive device or bacteriological or biological weapon. Smith also claimed that the missing boy and his brother live with their mother in Florida, but they were with their father for five days. The boys were to return to their mother on Thursday, according to AL.com.
