Andy Cohen and Shep Rose just had a heartwarming reunion in the Hamptons.
The host of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen explained on the August 11 episode of his SiriusXM show, Radio Andy, that the ultimate Southern Charm bachelor had texted him about visiting Long Island’s go-to summer destination, and then this past weekend, “showed up on [his] beach” with a friend and some fishing rods, ready to fly-fish in the ocean.
Shep didn’t just interact with Andy, though — he also spent some time with Andy’s 6-year-old son, Benjamin Allen Cohen.
“I gotta tell you something; you can tell the measure of a person by how they are with your kids,” Andy began. “He walked on the beach — and you know, Shep, I’ve always characterized like a Golden Retriever — but he walked on the beach, and Ben immediately ran over to him because he saw the fishing rod, and he’s like, ‘Are you going fishing?’ And Shep’s like, ‘Yeah, I’ll teach you how to do it, come here.’”
“He spent a really good amount of time with Ben, trying to teach him how to fish, and so did his friend,” Andy continued. “Then he let Ben bury him in the sand … It touched my heart. I was like, ‘This is very sweet.’”

Shep posted a handful of weekend snaps on Instagram, including one of the guys’ day on the beach, and one of Ben trying to bury him. “But it was at least a two-to-three-person job,” Shep quipped of the latter photo.
Andy also shared a cute-as-anything picture of a smiling Shep and Ben running with a fishing pole in his hand as they played on the shoreline, writing, “Looked who popped up on my beach yesterday.”
Shep reposted the Instagram Story, adding, “I will not rest until Ben is an expert fisherman.”

Andy went on to share that what was “so funny” about Shep’s presence out East was that no one in Andy’s company recognized him or even knew of Southern Charm. What’s more, “My friend, Fred was like, ‘So, does Shep have a boyfriend?’ I go, ‘Shep is one of the great womanizers on Bravo. He is not gay,'” Andy hilariously recalled.
That said, Andy did note that Shep had popped up on his Raya feed during his visit to the Hamptons. “He goes, ‘I gotta check my settings,’” Andy said of Shep’s mistake.

The two have interacted much over the years, between reunions across Southern Charm’s 10 seasons, BravoCon events, and guest appearances in Andy’s WWHL Clubhouse. And, apropos of their recent ocean-related adventures, the pair shared some sweet history involving shark teeth.
For context, on Season 10 of the southern-style series, Shep gave a megalodon-tooth necklace to his then-girlfriend, Sienna Evans. But what separated the seemingly normal gift from the notoriety it eventually gained was that Shep had previously given a similar shark’s tooth necklace to another ex, Taylor Ann Green.

At the reunion, Shep promised to give one to Andy — and as the host revealed on April 8 on Instagram, Shep came through.
“I mean, I kind of feel like Shep should be here to make this official, but I don’t know if this means we’re a thing or what, but I’ll take it,” Andy told his followers. “And thanks to the folks at Foxy Fossils, who also sent some shark cufflinks and a shark bracelet. Very cool. Thanks, everybody.”
