NASHVILLE, Tenn. (TCN) —Â A 40-year-old man stands accused of fatally strangling his 46-year-old girlfriend after he allegedly threatened her with a knife months ago.
According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, on the morning of Aug. 18, Jared Streich called 911 and said his girlfriend, Miranda Gray, was unresponsive. A responding officer reportedly asked how long Gray had been unresponsive, but Streich didn’t answer.
Following an autopsy, detectives determined Gray died of strangulation and charged Streich with murder. Police noted that he and Gray had a history of domestic violence, and officers had arrested him numerous times.
According to police, in February, Streich allegedly threatened Gray with a knife, and he violated his bond conditions of staying away from the Hermitage Park Drive apartment. He was arrested Aug. 18 on the violation charge while officials continued to investigate Gray’s death. Streich’s bond was set at $75,000 for that charge.
Authorities also arrested Streich in April on charges of aggravated assault and violating bond conditions after Gray alleged that he “pushed her head into a closet door and shut a patio door on her arm.” Those charges were reportedly dropped in May.
On July 26, officials apprehended Streich on suspicion of cutting Gray’s wrists inside the apartment, and his bond was set at $85,000. Those charges were also dropped.
Streich was arrested for violating bond conditions on Aug. 3 after police reportedly responded to a domestic disturbance call at the apartment and discovered him there.
