KIRBYVILLE, Texas (TCN) —Â A woman allegedly impersonated a police officer and tried to detain someone because she thought he was an illegal immigrant.
According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, on the evening of Aug. 22, a deputy responded to a report of possible trespassing. At the scene, 58-year-old Alishia Blevins reportedly “had a male sitting on the public roadway in front of his vehicle,” and she claimed he was “an illegal immigrant and was trespassing on her property.”
The responding deputy determined the man never went onto Blevins’ property. Allegedly, Blevins approached the man with a gun and “ordered him to produce his proof of insurance, name, cellphone, and keys.” The sheriff’s office alleges that Blevins forced the man to exit his car, and she made him sit down on the road until law enforcement arrived.
According to authorities, the victim and a witness said Belvins claimed to be a police officer “when she called the victim’s wife from the victim’s cellphone and told her that her husband was going to jail.”
Blevins allegedly put a large dog, who she claimed was a K-9 dog, into the victim’s car and said the dog would attack if he tried to run away.
Blevins was arrested and faces a charge of terroristic threat — cause fear of serious bodily. She may also be charged with impersonating a peace officer.
