A shooting has been reported at a school in Minneapolis.
I’ve been briefed on a shooting at Annunciation Catholic School and will continue to provide updates as we get more information. The BCA and State Patrol are on scene.
I’m praying for our kids and teachers whose first week of school was marred by this horrific act of violence.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz posted that ths shooting was a Annunciation Catholic School and that state authorities were on the scene.
The city posted that the “shooter is contained” just before 10:30 a.m.
There is an active police situation at Annunciation Church, 509 W. 54th St. There is no active threat to the community at this time. The shooter is contained. Stay away from the area to allow emergency personnel to help victims – W. 54th Street between Lyndale and Nicollet Ave.

Details on the circumstances of the shooting, and the conditions of any victims, were not immediately available. The usual federal and state authorities all posted that they were “monitoring” the situation.
Sources told KMSP that the shooter is dead.
The station reported that the school’s students are in kindergarten through 8th grade and that they started the new school year on Monday. They were reportedly in a regularly scheduled mass when the shooting began. The first calls came in at about 8:30 a.m.
