Authorities in Colorado have taken into custody a man who rammed his vehicle into two houses while trying to track down his ex-girlfriend’s family, then trying to run over her mother.
The man was taken into custody after he rammed the mother’s home in the Denver suburb of Westminster for the second time on Sunday, and neighbors detained him until police could arrive, the Westminster Police Department said.
Police said they were called shortly before 11 a.m. for reports that the suspect had rammed into two private homes, first the home of his ex-girlfriend’s mother and then “an unrelated residence.”
“Afterwards, he returned and allegedly attempted to run over his ex-girlfriend’s mother multiple times before ramming his vehicle into her home again,” police said.
Both homes are being assessed for structural damage, police said, but there no serious injuries.
The suspect was taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation.
Police did not name the suspect or say if he faces any charges.
“The investigation remains ongoing,” police said. “Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.”
