Happy Birthdays are in order for Lala Kent, but fans may want to hang on to their balloons for now.
The Vanderpump Rules alum turned 35 on September 2, a day she said gave her “all the feels” in a message she recorded while in the car and shared to her Instagram Stories. “Because if you think about it, 35 years ago, my mom was preparing to give birth to me, and a year ago at this time, I was preparing to give birth to my baby,” Lala added, referring to the second of her two daughters, Sosa Kent, whom she gave birth to one day after her 34th birthday on September 3, 2024. (Big sister Ocean Kent Emmett turned 4 in March!)
However, turning 35 wasn’t all that it was cracked up to be. As Lala explained, “It’s weird, because I’ve been asked, ‘What are you doing for your birthday?’ and quite honestly, I forgot about it because tomorrow’s Sosa’s birthday, so I’m just fixated on that, and in a weird way, I was really hoping that Sosa would come on the 2nd because I’m over the birthdays.”
Lala contended she was done celebrating once reaching the 30-year mark, now that “fine lines are appearing.” She added, “I’m totally chill with not having it anymore.”
Still, it didn’t stop friends from posting their hearty tributes to the Give Them Lala Beauty founder. VPR costar Tom Schwartz wished his “imaginary internet GF” a Happy Birthday, as did friends from The Valley Brittany Cartwright, Michelle Saniei, and Janet Caperna.
What Lala Kent and her two daughters are up to today
It’s of zero surprise that Lala is channeling all of her birthday energy into Sosa. The mother of two celebrated her youngest earlier this year in the sweetest way when going under the tattoo gun to get Sosa’s name tatted on her right forearm, with the help of celeb tattoo artist Ignacio Suarez. When showing off the new ink, Lala stated, “Got my baby’s name. She’s perfect.”

Last month, the former SUR hostess and girl mom had fans tickled when she shared a photo of her grandpa, Bob, on Instagram, laughing at the elderly man’s uncanny resemblance to Sosa. It instilled the sense of good genes within the family, which Lala touched on on Mother’s Day when posting a family photo of her mom, Lisa Birmingham, and brother, Easton Birmingham, with Lala and the girls.
Lala maintained, “The house don’t fall when the bones are good.”
Lala Kent discusses the possibility of having more children
Although Lala might be over the idea of celebrating her own birthday, she’s not over the idea of having another child. She admits to having her hands full with Ocean and Sosa, but has stated on multiple occasions that she’s open to having one more.

On her Give Them Lala podcast, she weighed the idea of conceiving in May 2026, telling brother and co-host, Easton, “I looked into this … I was with a friend of mine, and she goes off of the Chinese gender calendar. And I told her, I said, ‘Next May is when I would like to start trying to get pregnant.’ She goes, ‘If you do conceive in May, you’ll have a boy’… I was, like, ‘Maybe I do… maybe I’m OK with a boy…’ And then we would call it a day.”
