A Texas teenager was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly killing his father and then leading police on a high-speed chase in the victim’s truck.
Authorities said the 16-year-old boy has not been charged with Willie Washington’s murder but with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault of a family member, KTRK reported.
Washington, 43, was found with multiple stab wounds in his home and was pronounced dead at the scene Tuesday morning after another family member found his body, KPRC said.
Police determined Washington’s truck was missing from the home and found it using license plate readers. They tried a traffic stop, but the boy fled, leading police on a pursuit that ended when he crashed.
Surveillance video aired on KHOU showed the truck spin out into a grassy area and the teen taking off on foot. Police said he was quickly captured.
The teen is now behind bars at the Brazoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
