Lala Kent is starting a “new chapter” with her podcast, now named Untraditionally Lala. The Vanderpump Rules alum had run her podcast, Give Them Lala, for around six years before the rebrand, and she is so excited about the new change.
Lala took to the podcast on Sept. 17, for the first episode since the rebrand, where she opened up about the much welcomed changes. “We are back, but we are a little different, but a little bit the same,” she said. “I feel like I don’t even know what intro I wanna go with yet, but normally, when you hear my voice, I say, ‘Hello, gorgeous.’ But I’m like, ‘Is that also on brand?'”
The mom of two had taken a three week break to “hone in” on her vision for the new podcast. “If you’re asking me, I like to say I am very evolved now,” she noted. “With age and two kids, I just felt like Give Them Lala was, it just didn’t sit right anymore. I just felt like we had outgrown it.”
“So, Untraditionally Lala is my new podcast, and I am so freaking excited for this new chapter,” she added.
Lala also took to her Instagram Story on Sept. 17, where she shared the exciting news. “We’re all living an untraditional life in some capacity,” she wrote. “Let’s talk about it.”

She continued, sharing her new vision for the podcast. “I really just want to shine a light on people who have thought their life was going to go one way, and it went the complete opposite direction,” she said.

She admitted that she would love to have guests on who have chosen their own paths in life. “And they took life by the ovaries and said, ‘F—k this. It may be the complete opposite of what I thought life was going to be like, but I’m going to choose what I want out of life with the situation I’ve been given,'” she noted.

For her first episode of the rebrand, Lala invited her friend, Ambyr Childers, on to talk about their lives. “She’s got a very impressive resumé, but to me she’s my other co-parent,” Lala said during the introduction.
“I’m really excited,” Lala said of her guest. “I’m a little nervous because our friendship and our relationship has remained very private for many years, whether we’ve been in the lowest of lows or the highest of highs, it’s kind of just been the two of us and it’s been very sacred to me. And I’m very grateful that you’re doing my podcast and you’re my first guest.”

During an Amazon Live stream on Sept. 9, Lala revealed why she wanted to ditch the name Give Them Lala, which is also the title of her 2021 memoir and was the name of her skincare brand. She noted that the name sounds “juvenile” to her and represented “a part of [her] life that no longer exists.”
“And it’s not going to exist ever again. We’ve grown out of it,” she explained. “So, I dissolved two of my businesses and the podcast is next.”

Lala’s skincare and makeup brand, formerly named Give Them Lala Beauty, has since been rebranded to Lala Beauty. Lala also sells merchandise on her website, referring to a phrase that she said during VPR Season 10.

But, being an actress was Lala’s first passion. She has since appeared in 14 movies, in addition to appearing on several songs.

Shortly after it was announced that VPR Season 12 would feature a brand new cast of SURvers, Lala spoke with Parade in December, where she opened up about the next steps in her career. “Everything that I want has shifted,” she said.
“It’s right now about getting the brand where it needs to be, having it ring true to who I am right now,” she added. “What has stuck is, I want an empire, and I won’t stop until I have that.”
