It turns out that Erika Jayne and Gretchen Rossi have someone very special in common. That person, as it turns out, is the famed choreographer and creative director to the pop stars, Mikey Minden. Of course, Real Housewives fans first met Mikey many years ago when he worked with Gretchen, and he was later reintroduced to Bravo viewers as he currently works closely with Erika on her creative endeavors in the pop music world.

Gretchen Rossi’s career connection to Mikey Minden explained
Back in Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Mikey worked with Gretchen when she was recruited to perform with the Pussycat Dolls in Las Vegas. Mikey was featured on RHOC that season as he worked with Gretchen to make sure she was stage-ready for her big moment in the spotlight with PCD (you can check out Mikey and Gretchen in action in the video below).

Inside Erika Jayne’s music career collaboration with Mikey Minden
Of course, he has worked and done iconic stuff with pop stars who aren’t Real Housewives, but Mikey’s collab with Erika Jayne is truly the stuff of legend. For instance, during their time together, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member and Mikey dreamed up the Pat the Puss dance move. They also worked together on Erika’s Las Vegas residency, Bet It All on Blonde (which was later a Bravo limited series), proving that the pair know a thing or two about the life of a showgirl. The pair continues to work together as Erika takes the stage across the globe.

Mikey Minden discusses his work as a creative director with pop stars
In an interview with The Daily Dish in 2016, Mikey shared some insight into his work with the Pussycat Dolls and compared it to his career working with Erika.
He said at the time, “Well Erika is a performance artist, as were the Pussycat Dolls. It was a performance-based music group and she is a performance-based music artist. I see her in that genre. She is going to be taking over stages for years to come. She’s been doing it and killing it. She has eight No. 1s. She’s performed all around the world. Being friends with Yolanda [Hadid], and meeting this group of women, and doing this situation — this platform is really great for her. And the world is really kind of [noticing] now, ‘Wow, this girl is really f–king cool.’ So I think that I see her blossoming and evolving. I don’t think there’s an end in sight. I think this is just the beginning of the Pretty Mess takeover.”

He also shared more details in that throwback interview on what the creative process with Erika looks like as they dream up performances. “Well we always look through photography books, European fashion magazines, watch old clips of Fosse and Cyd Charisse, and these old school divas that really paved the way for performers like Erika. [We’re] thinking how can we push it? How can we make it theatrical? It’s a constant building process when you’re working closely with an artist. It’s always changing. It’s always evolving, but you want it to feel organic to the artist you’re working with,” he said. “Everything I’ve done with Erika is always really true to who she is and what she’s trying to express, which is fantasy, love, escape, glitz, glamour, fun — those are her words.”
