ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (TCN) —Â Police recently arrested a 44-year-old man on suspicion of killing a woman and her teenage daughter.
Per a release from Kentucky State Police, on the morning of Sept. 19, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check at a home on South Spring Street, where they discovered 37-year-old Kayla Blake and her daughter, 13-year-old Kennedi McWhorter, deceased. Authorities did not say how they died.
Detectives identified Joshua Cottrell as the primary suspect in their deaths. Troopers and local law enforcement agencies found Cottrell at a hospital. Following treatment, he was released and charged with two counts of murder and one count of tampering with physical evidence. He was booked into McCracken County Jail.
