Bronwyn Newport is is not quite ready for her daughter, Gwen, to fly the nest, so The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast member recently made a major change to her living situation to keep her 18-year-old at home.
“I am not prepared for Gwen to move out right now,” Bronwyn confessed in Season 6, Episode 2.
She admitted to her fellow ‘Wives on the first girls’ trip of the season that she’d taken a bold step to ensure Gwen continued to reside with her. “Gwen’s graduated in October. She needs to be leaving. And instead, I moved her boyfriend into our house so she would stay longer,” Bronwyn shared.
The episode then showed Bronwyn, Gwen and Gwen’s boyfriend, Logan, cooking in the kitchen during a flashback.
“I can’t cook for you until you’re like 80, so,” Gwen warned her mother, and Bronwyn replied, “Well, I was kind of hoping you’d just live here for forever and cook for me.”
But letting Logan move in came with a price, since he added an additional guest to the home Bronwyn shares with her husband, Todd Bradley. In April, Gwen and Logan brought a new pet chameleon into the home. Although Bronwyn was initially apprehensive, she documented on social media why she changed her mind.
“In fairness, he’s rainbow and makes the same smirk as Todd aaaaaaand G said I could maybe name him (if I come up with a good name) so maybe I’ll learn to love him,” she wrote over photos of the pet.
Bronwyn Newport reveals why she’s afraid for her daughter Gwen to move out
Bronwyn shed more light during the Sept. 23 episode on exactly why she’s afraid of Gwen moving out on her own.
“What if Gwen moves out, and I have all of this time and space and freedom to go do something fabulous with my life, and I don’t make something fabulous out of my life?” Bronwyn confessed. “I don’t know who I am if I’m not Gwen’s mom.”
In a moment of vulnerability, Bronwyn also told the ‘Wives, “I’m not ready to be done. My insecurity is I haven’t done enough with Gwen yet, and I need more time with her.”

Bronwyn and Gwen have certainly been making the most of their time together, and documenting all their adventures on social media. In March, Bronwyn shared Instagram stories of herself skiing with her daughter (and Logan) and “getting her butt kicked trying to keep up” with them.
She later shared how Gwen distracted her from an upcoming trip by “play[ing]” in her closet, “distract[ing]” her and also “be[ing] weird, apparently.”
Bronwyn Newport opens up about relocating her parents to Utah
Bronwyn will open up her life to even more family on RHOSLC Season 6 — including her parents.
“At home, Bronwyn has relocated her parents to Salt Lake City after a series of health scares and a devastating diagnosis, but tensions reach a boiling point when her mother strikes a chord with her harsh critiques,” an announcement for the new season read.
In December 2024, Bronwyn revealed to People that her father has Alzheimer’s disease, and her mother was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
“My dad has been doing so great in memory care, but this week he hasn’t been himself,” she shared on her Instagram stories in April. “We went for a big Easter family visit and it just didn’t go well.”

She added that was the reason to move her parents to her home in Utah, which will play out during Season 6.
“We’ve been slowly transitioning [them] to be living with me (and maybe one day out on her own, but close to me) after health challenges,” Bronwyn shared on her social media as she added pictures of her emptying out her childhood home in California.
Gwen also had a room at Bronwyn’s parents’ home, and cleaning that out was difficult for Bronwyn.
“Donating her old toys and books will make me so happy, but I’m also in a real nostalgic spiral,” she wrote on Instagram. “How do I leave my childhood and my daughter’s behind at the same time?”
Moving her parents to Utah wasn’t a smooth transition. During the RHOSLC Season 6 trailer, Brownwyn can be seen talking to her mother about her pregnancy with Gwen, and stating, “My mom is disappointed in me. She’s made that very clear.”
Bronwyn Newport reveals a major home change
Having new people living in the house isn’t the only major change Bronwyn has made recently. In the RHOSLC Season 5 After Show video above, she revealed she had surprised Todd with a room remodel.
“He came home and I painted the entire office in my house pink — not me personally, I hired someone to do it,” Bronwyn explained. “He was pretty upset about that. So now it’s my office, not Todd’s.”
