14-Year-Old Georgia Girl Vanishes, Possibly Lured by Someone Online – Crime Online

A Georgia family is pushing for answers after their 14-year-old DeKalb County girl disappeared after reportedly meeting someone online.

The DeKalb County Police Department said that North Druid Hills High School student Amy Reidling was last seen at around 2 p.m. on September 21, in the 1900 block of Janet Lane, in Decatur.

Her stepmother, Ginny Rutledge, told Atlanta’s 11Alive News that Amy had planned to attend a Homecoming dance this upcoming weekend and had been shopping for her dress when she vanished.

“I opened the door, and she was gone. Tore the house apart, called 911 at 9:15 [p.m.],” she said. “No one’s messages have been read. Every time we call, it goes straight to voicemail.”

Amy’s father and stepmother have since hired a private investigator when police failed to find her. They believe someone may have lured her after meeting online.

“There’s a lot she doesn’t know, and especially in a big city like Atlanta,” Rutledge said.

“I’m positive that she was taken … Amy, we love you, we miss you. We want you here. That’s why you’re here. We wanted you here. You’re my girl, you’re my person. I miss you. Please come back.”

According to police, Amy is described as a white female who stands 5 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs around 105 pounds. She has brown hair with bangs and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact Dekalb police at 770-724-7710.
