MADISON COUNTY, Ind. (TCN) —Â A 49-year-old man will spend over seven decades behind bars for killing his wife last year.
The Madison County Prosecutor’s Office said a judge sentenced Jeremy Hinson on Sept. 23 to 55 years for the murder of his wife, Michela Hinson, and an additional 20 years for a felony firearm enhancement for a total of 75 years.
According to WTHR-TV, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Forrestville Cemetery, where they found the victim deceased in the driver’s seat and Jeremy Hinson sitting in the front passenger seat.
Court documents reviewed by WTHR said the defendant was initially unresponsive, but then he sat up, unlocked the door, and exited the car. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her chest and abdomen.
Police reportedly found a gun in Hinson’s possession. He was allegedly transported to a hospital for observation for a possible overdose.
According to WTHR, Hinson had blood splatter on his forehead, eyelid, arms, hands, and ankles.
