Below Deck Mediterranean‘s new chef, Josh Bingham, didn’t take long to get his sea legs aboard Bravado on the show’s Season 10 premiere.
After all, Chef Josh’s culinary career began as a trial by fire, working for more than a decade in the pressure cooker of some seriously “intense” kitchens at Michelin-starred restaurants.
“Working in Michelin kitchens, I mean, it’s good because you become a great chef, but it’s f–king intense,” he explained in a confessional. “One time, I was running the meat section at a kitchen. I was 20 minutes late on a check. The chef behind the pass grabbed me, pulled my head down onto the hot pass … and just screamed at me.”Â
He continued, “I remember, like, getting up, and being like, ‘Yes, chef!'”
When a producer asked if it burned his face, Josh replied, “A little bit. But he got suspended for a week.”
That’s when he broke the fourth wall, looking directly into the camera and sending a message to the unnamed chef: “Hey, by the way, if you’re watching!”
Who is Chef Josh Bingham on Below Deck Med Season 10?
Hailing from Bath, England, Chef Josh is a Below Deck Med Season 10 newcomer who has three years of experience in the yachting industry and previously lived on a commune, according to his official bio
When he’s not on a boat, Josh enjoys traveling and recording music. In fact, the “artistic” chef’s wildest charter guest story involves him playing “Little Red Rooster” on guitar, while Queen’s Roger Taylor from Queen was on drums.
On Below Deck Med‘s Sept. 29 episode, Josh shared even more details about his life, beginning with how music has been a center point of his life. For example, he had trouble sleeping his first night on Bravado, but some soothing tunes turned out to be the perfect remedy.
“I used to work in kitchens where we didn’t have music for years, and I didn’t realize how much it affected me until I left that kind of work,” he shared with deckhand Max Salvador in the galley.
In fact, his career path has always been a balancing act of sorts.
“The box that they want you to fit in at a Michelin-star restaurant, it’s kind of robotic,” he elaborated to a producer. “That’s why, for someone who is super creative, I had to get away.”

Josh “very much” sees himself as an artist and enjoys “lots of different mediums,” listing off, writing music, playing guitar, dressing as rock stars, and creating different styles of food.Â
“It’s all part of an art form, he added, noting that he would wear “nail varnish” if he could, but, alas, it “might come off in the food.”
So, as chief stew Aesha Scott was planning the first charter’s themed “chocolate factory meets bitcoin” dinner, he immediately volunteered to put on a costume.
“You never know when guests are gonna ask you to dress up or do a silly dance or whatever,” Josh continued. “A lot of chefs want to hide in the galley, but I enjoy that. I enjoy the creativity. When I was in Nicaragua, I actually met a clown, and he trained us for two weeks on the craft.”Â
While unpacking the “nuances to being a clown,” he even appeared in his confessional wearing full makeup, an oversized bowtie, and colorful suspenders.Â
Chef Josh Bingham and Kizzi Kitchener “flirt” on Below Deck Med
There might even be a boatmance ahead for Chef Josh, as stew Kizzi Kitchener seemed to catch his eye.
“That’s a nice perfume you have on,” he complimented her, prompting Kizzi to realize, “My god, he’s flirting with me.”
Later, she attempted to return one of Josh’s knives to the galley, but he told her she could keep it the kitchen tool in the pantry, so she didn’t “have to keep coming back” to borrow it.

“You don’t want me to come back?” she playfully replied, to which he said, “I want you to come back. Come back whenever you want,” before promptly becoming tongue-tied.
Kizzi, meanwhile, didn’t seem to be looking for anything serious, telling a producer, “Boys tend to like me. I love, like, playing. I feel like a little puppeteer.”
Indeed, the Below Deck Med Season 10 trailer already previewed Kizzi bluntly stating that she wants to “f–k everyone” on Bravado. She even joked about starting a Bingo card with plans to “tick off the whole crew.”
