The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Candiace Dillard Bassett is taking her can-do attitude to new places as she continues to juggle motherhood and her career in impressive ways.
The RHOP alum, who gave birth to son Jett Maxwell Lee Bassett just shy of one year ago, announced she’ll be cohosting a new podcast called Undomesticated alongside bestselling author Michael Arceneaux. The pop culture audio series invites audiences to the pair’s “virtual kitchen table,” where they can laugh as they cover the buzziest headline-making news in each weekly episode beginning Oct. 1.
Said the pair as part of a joint statement to People, “Yes, we’re talking reality TV twists and viral internet chaos, but we’re also getting into the real stuff, too. From the light to the layered, nothing’s off limits.”
Candiace has already teased fans with an Instagram video of her and Michael in conversation, promising unscripted — and unfiltered — dialogue, and even some “spicy side eyes.” What’s more, she took followers inside the studio when recording the podcast’s official score, which she also shared on Instagram. Said the accomplished singer, “I had to give y’all a theme song with teeth …. Bold. Brassy. A little bougie. A lotta ME.”
Undomesticated premieres just two days before Jett’s very first birthday, but thankfully, the woman behind the legendary cry-angle napkin knows how to get the job done with the baby in tow.

Candiace recently brought Jett into her workspace, as seen on her IG Stories, showing off his “teeny tiny feet” ink-stamped into a book soon after his birth. “Look at that,” the mom of one remarked as she brought the almost-1-year-old’s feet against the page. Candiace continued in her best baby voice, “Oh my goodness, you were such a little, tiny munchkin.”
Sitting on his mother’s lap in front of her desk and laptop, baby grew fussy as Candiace tried to get him to say “munchkin.”
Elsewhere on Instagram, Candiace shared more of her and Chris Bassett’s son’s milestones. In a video from the P.O.V. of Jett’s crib, the baby cooed and laughed uncontrollably whenever she said “booty” in a playful voice. The camera faced the windows of a sun-lit room in what Candiace captioned was her “favorite time of any day.”

In another IG Story, she posted a video from the same angle with Jett “just hollerin.’” This time, the baby adorably attempted to say “birthday” on his mother’s cues. Continued Candiace, “It’s almost your birthday!”

On Sept. 20, the “How Do You Live?” singer treated spectators to the National Anthem at her alma mater, Howard University, during a football game at Washington, D.C.’s Audi Field. She shared an image of herself during soundcheck, practicing “The Star-Spangled Banner” on the green with Jett’s stroller before her. The shared post stated that Candiace, “DID ALL of that!!!”
She later shared a few rare pics of Jett, and although she kept his face concealed, she had a blast at the game with “the cutest boyyyy [she] ever did seee.”
What’s the latest in Candiace Dillard Bassett’s career?
On Oct. 11, she will show off her acting chops in a musical production of Dennis Williams’ I’ve Cried the Blues. At the Warner Theater in the country’s capital, she will grace audiences as Miss Lilly, an ambitious nightclub singer in the segregated South trying to make a name for herself on the blues music scene.
She said in a Sept. 26 interview with BOSSIP that filling the role was a major milestone in her work-and-motherhood balance: “To step into this kind of role now, as a new mom, feels like proof to myself that I can do both; be fully present as Jett’s mother and still accomplish the artistic goals I’ve set for myself.”
