Gia Giudice is in no rush to find the perfect home.
The Next Gen NYC cast member kicked off her apartment search in early September with the goal of securing a new place before the end of the month. Although she has toured multiple properties over the past few weeks, Gia has yet to move out of her family’s Montville mansion. But she expects that to change “very soon.”
“I am apartment hunting right now. I’m moving out very soon [in the] next month,” The Real Housewives of New Jersey daughter recently told Us Weekly. “I’m excited to really have this alone time and be independent and just have this whole different perspective of, like, going to work and commuting. I’m so excited for that.”
Gia Giudice’s mom, Teresa Giudice, didn’t give her a timeline to move out
After graduating from Rutgers University in 2023, Gia moved back in with her mom, Teresa Giudice, and stepdad, Luis “Louie” Ruelas. The Jersey native said she had zero regrets about returning home or living with her mom for the past two-plus years.

“I think it’s totally normal to live at home for as long as you want, and when you are ready to move out and take on that responsibility, it’s totally up to you,” she said. “I wasn’t rushed. I didn’t have a timeline. My mom isn’t kicking me out of the house.”
Gia also encouraged other young people to move back home if they had the opportunity to do so, as it made a lot of financial sense.
“It’s never a bad thing to live at home,” she said, before touching on her home-buying plans. “Save your money, especially now. I did see on the news, apparently, that the house interest rates went down, like, 2.2 [points]. It’s trickling the right way, so maybe in a year, I’ll be ready to buy.”
Gia Giudice explains why she’s leaving her family’s home
While living at home came with many perks, Gia previously said she was “desperate” to find her own place. Why? Well, she was simply growing tired of her long commute.

“It’s a lot,” Gia said during a June interview with Today. “My schedule has only picked up since ‘Next Gen NYC,’ which is funny, because it picked up the summer we were filming Next Gen [NYC], and no one knew that we were filming it… It’s just my career kind of started picking up and my brand started growing, and I am in the city at least four times a week, so it’s a lot of back and forth from Jersey.”
Gia said she wasn’t completely sold on living in the Big Apple, and preferred to find a place in Jersey City or Hoboken — somewhere in between NYC and her family’s neighborhood.
“I’ll still spend my weekend at home, maybe every other weekend at home,” she revealed. “I have to see my [dog] Bella.”
