Wendy Osefo and her husband, Eddie, took a risk when they decided to jump into the cannabis business—and it’s paying off. Wendy didn’t hold back when describing how they’re rolling in the dough during the Season 10 premiere of The Real Housewives of Potomac.
“I’m really proud of Eddie. Happy Eddie is taking off, especially now that it’s in three different states,” she said, gushing about the business expansion. “Happy Eddie is—you know—financially successful. Cha-ching!”
Eddie revealed to the children he shares with Wendy—Karter, 12, Kruz, 10 and Kamrynn, 6—that Happy Eddie was expanding to New Jersey.
“Aren’t you guys proud of me? I started with one state, and now I’m growing the business into multiple states,” he told the kids in the Oct. 5 episode. “So you can now see, as an entrepreneur, when you put your mind to something, you can grow your business.”
On the heels of the business boom to Missouri and New Jersey, Wendy and Eddie also met to plan out home renovations with their interior designer. Wendy’s “vision” included new living room floors, a new floor-to-ceiling marble fireplace, and a new kitchen island.
“Where is this money coming from?” Eddie asked, and Wendy jokingly responded, “Happy Eddie is doing very well. Let’s use this drug money, okay?”
How Eddie and Wendy Osefo grew their Happy Eddie cannabis brand
Eddie and Wendy first revealed their new cannabis business venture during Season 8, Episode 11—and admitted a memorable Season 7 moment was the inspiration behind the “Happy Eddie” name.
“Last year I heard […] that I was called ‘Happy Eddie,'” Eddie said then. “So, when I was thinking about entering this industry, I said, ‘Hey, let’s use “Happy Eddie” and let’s see where it goes.’ This cannabis industry … I think this is gonna be the gold mine.”
Eddie decided to jump in after Maryland legalized the recreational use of marijuana in 2022.
He said at the time, “Only 2 percent of the [cannabis] industry is Black in terms of entrepreneurs, so I wanted to be that conduit for change.”
The business has now grown to include flowers, prerolls, edibles and tinctures, as well as CBD products like sleep gummies. In the Oct. 5 episode, Eddie was showing off Happy Eddie t-shirt merch, which is also available on the Happy Eddie website.

“You bet on yourself and hope that everything else takes care of itself,” Eddie said in an interview with Leafly. “The highs are high and the lows are low, but I stuck with it. You have to stay on top of the rules and regulations to stay compliant, and keep your ear to the street to know what will resonate.”
Eddie has also been using his background as a lawyer to work with advocacy organizations through the Happy Eddie brand.
“We support organizations that drive outreach, education, and policy reform,” Eddie told Leafly. “With my legal background, I have a passion for criminal justice reform and eliminating systemic barriers. We want to provide minority entrepreneurs with meaningful opportunities in this space.”
Wendy Osefo shares she’s jumping back into her career in higher education
Wendy is also keeping busy juggling her career with Eddie’s cannabis venture. Although Wendy resigned as a professor at Johns Hopkins University at the start of Season 9, she later decided to get back into academia.
“I’m still teaching at Wesleyan in Connecticut, where I’m a distinguished professor, so that’s super exciting for me, and I’m looking forward to it,” she told The Daily Dish during DIRECTV’s Plot Twist-Featuring Bravo event in New York City on August 12. “This is my second year there, and I’m teaching about reality TV and its impact on society. My students love it, and so I’m geared up for that.”
