After almost 30 years of marriage with her husband, The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Heather Dubrow knows a thing or two about how to make a relationship work.

Power couple, Heather and Dr. Terry Dubrow, were “so lucky” to share a love that has withstood decades and given them their four children: 21-year-old twins Nick and Max, plus teens Kat and Ace. But, it’s not always easy. That’s what she said at Step Up’s 2025 Inspiration Awards on Sept. 26 when speaking with E! News. “Marriage has to be rooted in faith, and relationships take a lot of work,” Heather revealed.
Heather and Terry have conquered many goals in their 26-year marriage, from publishing books together to cohosting their open-book-style podcast, Between Us. They also know how to ensure they fill their time with a hearty dose of laughter, as Heather proved in a laugh-out-loud Instagram video where she threw flower petals in the air to create a path for a berobed Terry.
“Introducing my husband ‘the saint’ that never does anything wrong,” she captioned the post, adding, “And I’m overreacting and the problem.”

However, although it might look as though Heather and the celebrity plastic surgeon have a “perfect balance” between them, she doesn’t believe such a concept exists. The key, she revealed, was finding happiness where you are. She shared with E! News, “To me, [it’s] about realizing that wherever you are in your life right now, you already have it all. Accepting that really shifts your perspective.”

Heather and Terry no doubt have their reasons for loving one another. “What I love most about him is that he shows up,” Heather continued in her E! interview. “He always has a smile, and no matter what I’m wearing, he’ll make me feel beautiful. Having a partner like that just gives you the confidence to step out the door and take on the world.”

How Heather and Terry Dubrow juggle their business and family lives
Over the years, Heather and Terry have perfected a system that works best when it comes to managing work and family. “So, Terry and I are really good at balancing the family and businesses and finances and investments, and when it comes to the children, that’s my realm,” Heather said in an August interview with Bravo’s The Daily Dish. “He has no say.”
How did Heather and Terry Dubrow meet?
The couple met on a blind date in 1996, but the spark wasn’t quite there, according to Heather. But seeing the future Botched star at his Newport Beach office and in his own environment was a game-changer for the future Mrs. Dubrow. “It was a turn-on,” she said. “It was sexy as hell.”
Not long after that, Terry invited his love interest for a private getaway to San Francisco and Napa Valley. As Heather explained it, “From the moment I saw him at the airport, it was over. I knew I was gonna marry him … It was like we were a married couple. It’s like, we saw each other, smiled, gave each other a kiss, and it was magical, and it was done.”
They tied the knot three years later in 1999, and their love continues to withstand the test of time. Of course, like any married couple, it hasn’t gone without its hitches.
