BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (TCN) —Â Authorities recently arrested a 68-year-old man on suspicion of killing his 31-year-old estranged wife, a police dispatcher, more than three decades ago.
According to the Baltimore County Police Department, Linda Lester was last seen on Oct. 11, 1994, leaving work to pick up her 2-year-old daughter from her estranged husband, Donald Lester. They were reportedly going through a divorce at the time and lived in separate houses.
Linda Lester’s sister reported her missing on Oct. 12, 1994, and her body was discovered off a highway days later. Detectives interviewed Donald Lester after his estranged wife went missing, but authorities didn’t find enough evidence to file charges.
On Oct. 3, police announced that Donald Lester has been charged with murder in connection with his estranged wife’s death. He was booked into the Baltimore County Detention Center without bond.
Baltimore County Executive Kathy Klausmeier said, “As a member of our 911 team, Linda worked tirelessly to make our county a safer place where every call for help was answered swiftly and with compassion. Anyone who breaks the law in Baltimore County will be held accountable, and we’re grateful to our police department for their tireless work on this case.”
