Nineteen people are missing following Friday’s blast at an explosives manufacturing plant in Tennessee.
The Tennessean reported that the explosion occurred at 7:45 a.m. at Accurate Energetic Systems, near McEwen. Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis said people are missing and there are some fatalities, though an exact breakdown was not provided.
“There’s nothing to describe. It’s gone,” Davis said about the plant.
The Tennessean reported that the state Department of Labor and Workforce Development previously cited the plant for several serious violations — including employees eating and drinking in areas exposed to toxic chemicals.
