Heather Dubrow was noticeably absent from Alexis Bellino and John Janssen’s wedding. And now we know why.

During her October 9 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Heather confirmed she and her husband, Dr. Terry Dubrow, were invited to the “unconventional” ceremony, but they chose to skip the event for several reasons, including a family commitment.

“Terry and I were invited to the wedding,” The Real Housewives of Orange County mom said. “We were at Parents Weekend this weekend with our daughter.”
Alexis and John tied the knot on Friday, October 3, the same day that Heather and Terry arrived in Connecticut to visit their daughter Kat Dubrow. As seen on Heather’s Instagram, she and her hubby spent several days at Yale University, where their youngest daughter just began her freshman year. Family Weekend also coincided with Kat’s birthday, which, of course, made the trip extra special.

“Happy 19th to our beautiful Katty!!!” Heather captioned an October 5 post. “You are so special to us and we are so proud of you !!! I miss you already !!!!”

But that wasn’t the only reason why Heather missed Alexis’ wedding. The OC mom said her friendship with Shannon Storms Beador was also a factor, as Shannon had previously dated John for several years.
“You know, [it was a] complicated invite because, obviously, Shannon’s a good friend, and we’re not friends with Alexis and John as a couple,” Heather said. “But I do think Alexis is a great mom and a great girl, and I wish her all the happiness in the world.”

The Dubrows weren’t the only Bravolebs were secured invites to Alexis’ wedding. Attendees included RHOC alum Jo De La Rosa, The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys‘ Galyna Saltkovska, and RHOC‘s Tamra Judge. The latter spoke about the celebration during a recent episode of Two Ts in Pod, describing the event as both “beautiful” and “drama-free.”

“It was at the ranch in Laguna Beach, which I have never been to,” she told her co-host, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp. “You would never know you are at the ocean; you are in the woods underneath all these big — I think they were Oak trees. There were about 150 people there… There was so much love. So much love. It was just amazing. Beautiful.”
