Although she’s yet to mend fences with Kim Zolciak, Kandi Burruss remains hopeful that their respective daughters will always be friends.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum expressed her optimism during her and Riley Burruss’ joint appearance on Sherri Shepherd’s eponymous talk show. At one point during the sitdown, the host congratulated Riley on the success of Next Gen NYC, which documented her long-awaited reunion with Kim’s daughter Ariana Biermann.
“You became really close friends,” Sherri said, referring to Riley’s Next Gen NYC castmate. “Now, Ariana’s momma and your momma don’t get along. It’s two people tardy for the party.”

Kandi was clearly amused by the comment, as it was a nod to her and Kim’s 2009 collaborative track, “Tardy for the Party.”
“We started out really great friends,” Kandi said about Kim. “And that’s when Riley and Ariana first became friends, when they were kids. They were besties when they were kids. And they reconnected when they got older. So, hopefully, they don’t turn up how the older generation did. The next gen should be better than the first gen.”

Riley nodded in agreement, saying she was so happy that she and Ariana were able to reconnect on Next Gen NYC.
“I will always be grateful for that friendship,” she added.
The fallout between Kandi and Kim began in RHOA Season 3, when the former agreed to transform Kim’s “Don’t Be Tardy” song into a highly produced dance floor anthem. Although the remix was a massive success, it caused a legal dispute between the ex-friends.
Riley Burruss & Ariana Biermann want their moms to reconcile
More than 15 years after the rift, Kandi and Kim have yet to bury the hatchet; however, Riley and Ariana are seemingly convinced that could change… someday.
“I know my mom wants to, you know, reconnect [with Kim], and we all want to do like a dinner or something together,” Riley told The Daily Dish.

Ariana agreed, saying she and Riley wanted to bring their moms together once the timing was right.
“There [hasn’t] been a time or place yet where they’re both in town at the same time,” Ariana added. “I feel like we need to be there at the dinner when they do reconnect. I can’t see them [meeting] in Atlanta… I feel like we could definitely bring them and reconnect them together.”
