A Virginia dad was arrested this week after daycare staff discovered a gun in his child’s backpack.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said it was called at about 8:30 a.m. Monday after Dylan Scott Whorley, 27, dropped the child off at daycare and staff found the gun.
Investigators determined that Whorley had put the gun in the back pack that morning to have the child carry it from the house to the car for some reason and did not take it out again when he arrived at daycare. The child did not intentionally bring the gun into the daycare.
Whorley was charged with abuse/neglect of a child, firearm possession on school property, and allowing access to a firearm by a child.
He’s being held without bond.
