Gizelle Bryant just tackled rumors about her relationship status with a “new man,” NFL vet Shawn Springs, on The Real Housewives of Potomac.
During Season 10, Episode 4, Stacey Rusch made good on her promise to “find out” more intel on Gizelle’s rumored new romance, beginning with a group lunch at the Preakness Stakes horse race. While sitting around the table, Stacey first tested the waters by asking Gizelle point-blank if she had a “boyfriend.”
“I do not. … I’m single,” Gizelle replied, before revealing that newcomer Angel Massie had an “amazing guy” that she was going to introduce to her very soon.
So, Stacey put a pin in her investigation — until drama arose later during a cast dinner on their getaway to the Caribbean island of Nevis, that is.

“You guys are always talking about my relationship; why don’t we talk about yours, Gizelle?” Stacey asked, before showing sneaky photos that had been circulating of her on a date. “You have a whole man. His name is Shawn Springs, and he played in the NFL.”
Gizelle’s response? “That’s not a boyfriend; that’s a date,” she clarified, to which Stacey shot back, “That’s not what the streets are saying.”

As for whether or not Gizelle was still dating Shawn, she confirmed to the women, “Yeah. He’s still around.”
Their romance didn’t appear to be too serious, though: A flashback to a week earlier showed Gizelle explaining to Keiarna Stewart that she was “on the market” and had “like four” men on her dating roster, which she joked was “dwindling,” at the time.
As Gizelle elaborated in a confessional, “If I’m around anyone, these girls automatically assume this is my boyfriend and he’s gonna be my fiancé and then he’s gonna be my husband. And actually, that’s not how life works.”

How did Gizelle Bryant meet Shawn Springs?
Following a not-so-subtle attempt to avoid the topic, Ashley Darby revealed that she was actually present when Gizelle met Shawn.
“The night that they met each other initially was at a birthday party,” she eventually shared with the group in Nevis. “And he came very correct to her. He was wearing a nice little Fendi sweater. He’s very intellectual. And they just went out on a couple dates.”

Before Stacey dropped the dating rumors on RHOP‘s Oct. 26 episode, she and Gizelle already had lingering beef. That was at least partly evidenced by the fact that Stacey was the only woman to whom Gizelle did not gift a monogrammed robe and bag, along with a personal welcome note, on the trip.
During a tense dinner conversation, Stacey eventually called out Gizelle for what she perceived to be a double standard that she and some of their castmates had for her, particularly amid her messy breakup from Thomas Anthony “TJ” Jones and subsequent reconciliation with ex-husband Thiemo Rusch.
“It’s beyond me that you hold this standard for me that, you know, I have to show who I am and I need to be accountable,” Stacey explained, just prior to mentioning Shawn’s name.
When she first brought up the Gizelle dating rumors while lunching with Jassi Rideaux on Episode 3, Stacey gave a similar explanation for her motive.
“It is beyond me that Gizelle calls me a liar and says that I’m a phony and a fake, when she’s the one faking it all along,” Stacey explained to a producer in a confessional. “Why are the standards with me so different than everybody else?”
