The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City‘s supersized kickoff to the crossover charter with the Below Deck Down Under crew may have been jam-packed with explosive confrontations and lighthearted fun — but there were still plenty more behind-the-scenes moments that viewers didn’t see.
As Whitney Rose exclusively revealed to The Daily Dish, one such blink-and-you-miss-it detail involving Heather Gay occurred before they even boarded the yacht for their charter around Canouan on Season 6, Episode 7.
“This is so shady, and Heather’s gonna kill me, but just notice when we arrive and leave, when she hugs them in their white shirts,” Whitney teased, referencing their pal Captain Jason Chambers and his BDDU Season 4 crew.
The reason? “The amount of spray tan and makeup left behind on the crew was hysterical to me,” she added with a laugh. “As I turned around for, like, one last wave, I was like [points and laughs].”

In separate interviews at Bravo HQ, Whitney and several of her RHOSLC castmates dished on even more unaired moments from their BDDU charter.
Whitney, for one, copped to being the mastermind behind the “game” in which the ladies attempted to deter Britani Bateman from talking about her on-and-off romance with Jared Osmond by splashing her with water, following each and every mention of his name.
“I’m trying to help Britani make up her mind if she’s gonna date Jared or not date Jared,” Whitney explained. “And so, I just got so sick of hearing his name on our trip that I thought it’d be a fun way, like how you train your dogs, you know?”
According to Lisa Barlow, Britani got even wetter than you might have expected, too.

“She was doused,” Lisa recalled. “All we needed to do is add some conditioner in and rinse, repeat, and she would’ve been ready to go for the next day. It was a shower.”
As Britani herself put it, “I think at one point Whitney chased me around with the pitcher of water. It was a lot. But, I mean, again, I think they mean well. But it started to get a little bit much.”
All the while, Angie Katsanevas was also battling a severe case of seasickness that she said Captain Jason went above and beyond to help remedy. “I had no idea how sick I would get on the yacht. I threw up like 25 times that day,” Angie dished, explaining she had to remain lying “like a corpse” in her bed just to stop herself from vomiting.
“Captain Jason was coming in and bringing me soup, bringing me tea, bringing me ginger,” she continued. “He tried everything and nothing was making me feel better, except his visits. I mean, I really felt like I was in a five-star hospital. It was like, you know, the good doctor was in the house. He was so kind.”

At one point, Angie believed that Jason was quite literally heaven-sent, too.
“I laughed because I had my eyes closed and I just could not have felt, you know, less attractive laying there in my big boat pajamas and smelling like I’d been throwing up for 24 hours,” she continued. “And I opened my eyes and he’s standing there in a black shirt with the gold patches. And I thought, like, ‘Did I die and go to heaven?'”
As Angie concluded, “His visits definitely made me feel better. He was just very sweet and kind and compassionate.”
Also coming to her aid was “kind” Mary Cosby, who skipped the intense cast dinner and ate, as it turns out, two of chef Ben Robinson’s meals in their shared room.
“Just knowing someone was there, it made me feel like I was also enjoying the meal,” Angie added. “She was telling me about the wine. And every little bite, every little morsel, she was just savoring it and appreciating the meal so much that she even ordered a second meal. So, I got to experience listening to her eat it twice.”

During RHOSLC‘s Oct. 28 episode, Heather had also shared details on how her and Whitney’s friendship with Captain Jason began off camera.
“I met Captain Jason when I was on a trip in Australia with Whitney, and we hung out for about a week and had the best time together,” she explained to a producer, later joking that she’d bring only “a bikini and condoms” if she was “stuck on an island” with him.
Heather’s flirtatious banter with Captain Jason had already been evident when they’d FaceTimed about the trip four weeks earlier. At the time, she joked that she was going to “trap him” at sea.
