A Tennessee man has been charged with murder in the death of his mother.
Linda Spivey, 76, was found dead at her Lake Tansi home on November 3 when deputies conducted a welfare check, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said.
The sheriff’s office teamed up with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the 13th Judicial District Attorney’s Office to investigate Spivey’s death, leading to the arrest of her son, 59-year-old Kenneth Spivey.
Investigators have not revealed how Linda Spivey died but said the state medical examiner’s office was conducting an autopsy.
Spivey is being held on a 1 million bond and has a December 8 court date.
