A Washington woman was arrested on Monday for sexually abusing a teen boy who allegedly fathered the baby she had earlier this year.
Police got involved after Robyn Polston, 43, reportedly gave birth to the victim’s baby in January. Though Polston claimed the father was a man in her 20s whom she had not seen since the baby was born, DNA testing confirmed the minor boy was her baby’s father, according to WMBD.
In 2023, Polston chaperoned a school dance that the boy attended. The boy moved away, but he regularly returned to the area to visit a friend.
Prosecutors said Polston and the victim used burner phones under pseudonyms to conceal their identities. However, a search of the cellphones uncovered sexually explicit photos and videos of the pair, according to WEEK.
Polston was charged with criminal sexual assault and possession of child porn. A judge ruled for her to remain jailed, after Tazewell County prosecutors said they could not trust her to cease contact with the victim if released. They also claimed that Polston’s mother and sister enabled her criminal behavior, WEEK reported.
Polston is due back in court on December 4.
