Captain Jason Reacts to Not Being Invited to Aesha’s Wedding

Below Deck Down Under’s Captain Jason Chambers has thoughts about not being invited to Aesha Scott’s upcoming wedding.

On the Nov. 10 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the mega yachtsman addressed claims that he wasn’t on the guest list, even though the Below Deck Mediterranean chief stew — who worked under Captain Jason on Below Deck Down Under for Seasons 1 and 2 — invited Captain Sandy Yawn.

“We work with a lot of people — I’ve been doing it for three decades — and we’re very close, and we had what, two seasons together? And they were great seasons,” Captain Jason explained. “But that doesn’t mean we’re wedding-invite level. We don’t hang out after the show, but we actually respect each other.”

Captain Jason, who recently appeared for a Below Deck Down Under crossover with The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, knew from experience that many couples can’t accommodate everyone in their lives on their wedding day. As he put it, “I was married before. I couldn’t fit people on.”

Why Aesha Scott didn’t invite Captain Jason Chambers to her wedding

Aesha admitted that her former boss wasn’t invited to her and fiancé Scott “Scotty” Dobson’s upcoming nuptials on the Sept. 29 episode of WWHL. As she explained, “We can only bring 130 people … It’s been tough.”

Still, she called Captain Jason personally to explain this to him.

“We can’t bring everyone we know,” she continued to Andy Cohen. “And Sandy’s been in my life for a lot longer. So Sandy trumped.”

Despite defending her decision on WWHL for why she did not extend the invitation, the Drop coconut water entrepreneur had to explain further once rumors swirled that it was because they had a secret rendezvous. Per an Oct. 6 interview with Entertainment Tonight, “That is absolutely not the case.”

“You know, everyone’s speculating, and they’re like, ‘It’s just so weird because they had such a good relationship. But I’m like, ‘Yeah, but I’ve had a really good relationship with almost everyone that I’ve worked with,” Aesha said. “It doesn’t mean I can fit every person in [on the wedding guest list].”

She continued, “And Jason’s great, you know, we get on really well, and we were close for a time when we worked on the show together. But he’s not someone that’s in like, my inner circle.”
