Ariana Biermann is still so close with her mom, Kim Zolciak, today, after opening up about how she “took her money” during Next Gen NYC Season 1.
The Next Gen NYC cast member appeared on the Thank U, Next Gen panel at BravoCon 2025 on Sunday, Nov. 16, where Ariana revealed that her mom knew she would be getting very honest about her financial situation (more on that down below). And this didn’t impact the relationship that she has with The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum.
“I would never drop a bomb like that without telling everybody what was coming,” she admitted, noting that she and Kim are “really close.” “My mom’s my best friend, and it didn’t affect us in a drastic way.”
But, she also knew it was her role to tell her story about her finances in her own words and from her perspective. “At the end of the day, it’s my story and what happened to me,” she continued. “People had a very different perception about me and the way that I was living my life, and things that went on, and thought, I don’t know, I never did anything, and that I had all this money and I was doing all this stuff. And I was like, ‘Actually, no, I’m broke. They took it all.'”
“I started from the ground up, and I was partially doing that right before I got to New York,” she continued.
Has Kim Zolciak paid Ariana Biermann back the money she owes her?
“Yeah,” Ariana said during the panel. “The thing is, all that money that’s happened in the past, that stuff, I don’t ever expect a dollar. It’s if I’ve ever helped her out with a few things she needs here and there in the recent coming of months, and that she always pays me back for.”
“You can always make more money,” Ariana continued. “You can’t have a new mom. She’s my best friend.”

During the I Got It From My Momma panel at BravoCon 2025 that same day, Kim shared some insight into her own relationship with Ariana. The mom of six, who is based in Georgia, admitted to wanting to see Ariana more, but she was so excited about her move to NYC.

“She’s smart, she’s fun, she’s very well-rounded,” Kim admitted. “And she can handle pretty much anything.”
What did Ariana Biermann reveal about her finances during Next Gen NYC Season 1?
Ariana admitted that her dad, Kroy Biermann, and her mom “took” her money after she earned an income posting on Instagram and getting brand deals in her teens. “I can’t say exactly what they used it on, because I just found out that it was gone two years ago,” she said during Next Gen NYC Season 1, Episode 1.
“I don’t even know how much money I made over the time period,” she added. “Nobody was honest. There was no transparency. And I have no idea where it actually went.”

“I wish I would have been kept in the light about it, because I feel like I was grown enough to know the truth,” Ariana admitted. “To know there is nothing left, our house is about to be gone. Instead of the lying. I get it. The lying is why I moved out.”
