That’s a wrap on Season 19 of The Real Housewives of Orange County. And now Katie Ginella is revealing her plans for the holidays, while also sharing the latest updates on her family.

Katie is “so thankful” for her husband, Matt Ginella, after a health scare left him hospitalized in September. Katie spoke with The Daily Dish at BravoCon 2025, where she opened up about her husband’s health now. Katie said that she recently felt like “the worst wife ever” when Matt had been hospitalized after doctors discovered blood clots in his lung and legs. Katie recalled this scary incident at BravoCon.
“This makes me the worst wife ever. He told me he had a pain in his side, and I said, ‘Drink water and go lay down,'” she admitted. “And he was like, ‘I think I’m going to urgent care.’ And I was like, ‘Well, I have errands to do.’ And he was like, ‘OK.’ He called me and he was like, ‘They’re sending me to the ER. I have a blood clot in my lung.’ And I was like, ‘I’m the worst wife ever. I told you to drink water.’ So, he had multiple clots in his legs and lungs. And it was pretty painful, and he could have died. So I’m just lucky he’s here.”

Katie expressed her gratitude for Matt, who has stuck by her side since she joined the cast of RHOC in Season 18. “I am so thankful for my husband,” she shared. “I mean, I loved him before. But the last 2 years of kind of seeing under a microscope my own life and the things that I like and don’t like about myself — we have learned more about each other in these last 2 years.”

“I’m telling you, I’ve done so much growth in two years than in all 41 years of my life,” she continued. “And I’m very thankful for that. And he’s just been very patient and kind with me.”

Katie Ginella opens up about her family and their plans for the 2025 holiday season
Katie — who has three children from a previous relationship and a son with Matt — also shared some major updates on her kids. “Everyone’s great. Kaili has just started at Cal State Fullerton; she loves it,” she explained. “Gavin’s a freshman in college. Max is a sophomore. And then Bandon’s in the third grade.”

She continued, opening up about their plans for the holidays, which is dependent on Matt’s work schedule. “Well, we were going to go to Tahoe, I think, with the kids for the holidays. But Matt is so busy with travel,” she continued. “So I think we’re going to go [on] the first of the year.”
