More details have been uncovered concerning the death of Celeste Rivas, hindering investigators in their efforts to determine the teen’s cause of death.
TMZ reported that all of Rivas’s body parts had been “partially frozen” before being placed in the trunk of D4vd’s Tesla.
The frozen-to-thaw aspect and the body being chopped into multiple pieces have left the L.A. County Medical Examiner with little hope in establishing an official manner of death.
While detectives are treating Rivas’s death as a homicide, the cause of death also “will most likely be ‘undetermined,’” according to the medical examiner.
Investigators are also looking into a trip Burke took back in the spring, in the middle of the night, to a remote area in Santa Barbara County. There is a theory that this could be where Rivas’s body was taken and put on ice, according to TMZ.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Rivas’s “severely decomposed” body was found in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to Burke, on September 8, a day after her 15th birthday.
Police found the vehicle at a tow yard near Burke’s Hollywood Hills rental home, where it had been taken after the vehicle had been abandoned on the street.
The vehicle had been at the lot for several days before police made the discovery. Police said the girl’s dismembered body had been put in a bag and left in the front trunk.
It is also believed there is a second person of interest in Rivas’s death, dismemberment, and disposal.
