Police in Virginia are searching for a high school football coach who hasn’t been seen in days.
According to FOX News Digital, the Virginia State police listed 46-year-old Travis Turner missing on Friday. He was last seen November 20, wearing gray sweatpants, and gray shirt and glasses.
Turner is the head football coach at Union High School in Big Stone Gap, and it now considered a fugitive.
InsideNova reports that Turner is “wanted on five counts of possession of child pornography,” along with five counts of using a computer to solicit a minor.
VSP’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation went to Turner’s house in Appalachia on Thursday. His wife claimed he was not home. He reportedly left into a wooded area near the residence.
Police have been focused on the area while utilizing K-9 units and drones.
USA Today reports that the undefeated team headed to playoffs Saturday. The assistant coach, Jay Edwards, stepped in and served in Turner’s place.
Wise County Public Schools said in a statement Friday that an employee at the school is on administrative leave as the investigation into Turner continues. It’s unclear, however, if that employee is Turner.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Virginia State Police Division 4 at 276-484-9483 or send an email [email protected]. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
