There’s no place like home for the holidays for Below Deck’s Kate Chastain and her toddler son, Sullivan Cay.
The yachtie and single mom talked to The Daily Dish at BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas about how she’s looking forward to celebrating the holidays in her beautiful new Florida home. As she put it, “I’m really excited to decorate my house. I bought a 100-year-old historic house. This is my first Christmas there, and it’ll really be the first Christmas that my son will be excited, you know?”
“I’m excited to do the garlands, and the Christmas lights, and the Christmas tree,” she continued. “I didn’t love Christmas that much before I had a child, but it’s really fun to experience it now, through his eyes.”
Kate’s jaw-dropping home has been a work in progress, though a welcome one, she noted. Finally, “It does feel like home,” thanks to ongoing renovations. “I am settled, but that’s a really wonderful thing about having a home. It’s making it your own over time. I think the list will never stop.”
Details on Kate Chastain’s home renovations
Thanks to the previous homeowner, Kate already has a head start in the Christmas-decorating department. As she shared on her Instagram Stories in September, “Previous home owner left a Christmas wreath in the garage, so I added some palm frond trimmings,” she captioned the photo with the decor on her antique gate. “I’m obsessed.”

The update included a mention of her gate’s ornamental “rocket ship” ironwork, a reference to Below Deck’s Season 2, Episode 4 when Kate made penis-shaped towel art for one of the charter’s guests. Reflecting on the iconic moment years later, Kate called it “my favorite thing I’ve ever done.”
But that’s not the only update to the home. Over the summer, she installed black-and-white striped awnings, which incidentally matched her dress.
What to know about Kate Chastain’s “dream home” in Florida with her son
Kate officially moved into the stunner of a home in January, creating a “dream home” for Sullivan’s sweetest moments upon her move out of her cherished craftsman bungalow — which she then decked out for the holidays — and into a place suited to raise her only child. She even added a traditional height chart to measure Sullivan’s growth in what she referred to as their “forever home.”

As she once told The Daily Dish, “Especially now that Sullivan’s getting older, I’m really excited to do a little height chart on his door frame. ’Cause I know we’re gonna be here for that many years to chart his growth, so that’s just really exciting and moving is exhausting, so I’m happy to not be doing that for a long time.”
The modernized home comes with a ton of character, featuring a lion-head fountain, lime-green ceilings over her spacious outdoor patio, and charming accents throughout the interior, as seen in photos she shared with The Daily Dish.
