Arizona Woman Admits Slitting Boyfriend’s Throat, Declares ‘Independence Day’ – Crime Online

An Arizona woman declared “Today is my independence day” last week when she allegedly slashed her boyfriend’s throat in an attempt to kill him.

Tamala Rudeseal, 52, called 911 herself just after 8 p.m. on Thursday, reporting that she had tried to kill her boyfriend, according to court documents reported by KTVK.

Responding officers found the boyfriend with a deep cut from his left ear to the center of his throat. He was rushed to the hospital, while Rudeseal was taken into custody. Police found a large, folding hunting knife on the scene.

Detectives said the victim told them that Rudeseal, who had been his girlfriend for 11 years, was depressed over the holidays and that they had argued earlier in the day.

He said he had been sleeping and awoke to a pain in his neck and thought he would die. He said he controlled the bleeding with his shirt until first responders were on the scene.

Rudeseal told detectives that she had tried to kill the man.

“I hope he is dead,” she allegedly said. “It’d be a favor to me, his wife, and his children.”

Rudeseal has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. She’s being held on a $1 million bond.
