While dressed as iconic literary characters, the two face off in an explosive showdown in a preview for Season 11, Episode 3 (airing on Dec. 3). At the center of their drama: Austen’s relationship with then-girlfriend Audrey Pratt.

The above sneak peek kicks off with the backyard partygoers taking shots and Austen (dressed as Harry Potter‘s Hermione Granger) making a comment about Craig and Salley Carson’s recent late-night hot tub session. The vibe shift is solidified when Craig (costumed as Rufio from Hook) remarks, “Austen’s so jealous.”

After Austen insists that he’s “not jealous at all,” Craig doubles down, adding, “You’re locked up now in your house, you and your kittens.”

As the tension escalates, Austen fires back, “Craig, you’ve been locked up for five years, and all of a sudden, he emerges and he’s f–kin’ having fun.”

The two continue to argue back and forth in front of their castmates, before Austen eventually asks the Sewing Down South co-owner why he is “so unhappy.”

Craig’s response? “You’re the only unhappy person here ’cause you’re living a lie,” he shouts. “You’re stuck in a relationship. You’re not happy … You told me that you were jealous I was single.”

Austen, for his part, denies ever saying that or being “jealous of anything” in Craig’s life, in general. They continue to trade barbs right up until the moment Craig makes his exit as the episode’s credits roll.

What’s ahead in Craig Conover and Austen Kroll’s friendship drama on Southern Charm

The opening moments of Southern Charm Season 11 already teased that Craig and Austen’s friendship will continue to deteriorate. The brief flash-forward to Austen’s birthday celebration with Craig, Shep Rose and Whitney Sudler-Smith showed another major argument between the two.

While Austen contended that Craig “manipulated” him, Craig, accused Austen of weaponizing his “drinking problem” and making it “about him.” Meanwhile, they both said that the other had a “different” personality while cameras were rolling.

Before the premiere episode jumped back two months in time to show how they reached that point, Craig declared, “We don’t need to be friends anymore.”

The Southern Charm Season 11 announcement also teased how “long-simmering resentments” between Austen and Craig will “reach a new breaking point,” ultimately putting their friendship “on the line.”

Similarly, the Season 11 trailer previewed how a potential love triangle involving Salley might cause more friction between Craig and Austen. Elsewhere in the supertease, Craig brought up a “salacious rumor” to Shep about someone who “hooked up with Austen,” igniting plenty more intense arguments between them.

Austen Kroll expressed “doubts” about Audrey Pratt amid Craig Conover’s accusations

Though Austen denied Craig’s accusation that he was “jealous” of his single relationship status, he has already been questioning if he and Audrey are endgame.

As the Season 11 announcement also stated, “Austen is beginning to have doubts about his future with Audrey after nearly two years together. The group can see the signs, including him adopting two cats on his own, but their meddling antics aren’t exactly what Austen wanted.”

In the trailer, Austen sat down with ex-girlfriend Madison LeCroy, who cryptically asked if he felt “bored” in his relationship with Audrey.

After filming wrapped, Austen discussed his and Audrey’s breakup during BravoCon 2025, along with the fact that his conversations with Madison helped him to make the decision to call it quits.
