Kim Zolciak has found at least one silver lining in her divorce from Kroy Biermann: It proved just how strong she really was.
More than two years after announcing her marital split, The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum reflected on the highly publicized legal battle and one of the biggest lessons she learned along the way.

“I’m probably the strongest bitch on the planet,” she told The Daily Dish at BravoCon 2025. “What I’ve been put through has been shocking. It’s just every day. Just shocking. So, I was told if I was to file for divorce, he would probably destroy me, and he’s really trying. It’s never gonna work.”
Although she appeared to be thriving these days, Kim admitted her divorce has caused her quite a bit of stress, but she’s maintaining a positive outlook as she focuses on her family.

“I’m actually at peace. I’m at peace,” she said. “I’m, you know, just being a mom. My kids consume a lot of my life. My younger ones, in particular, you know, having football and now basketball… I had no idea what it really meant to have peace in my soul, so I’m good. The girls have been amazing and super helpful just with me and my life and the kids, so it’s been great.”
Kim Zolciak gets candid about her coparenting journey
Kim and Kroy initiated their legal separation in May of 2023, more than 11 years after they got married. The exes have since sold their Georgia mansion for $2.75 million and are now living under separate roofs while coparenting their six children: KJ, Kash, Kaia, and Kane Biermann, as well as Kim’s oldest daughters, Brielle and Ariana Biermann, whom Kroy adopted in 2013.
The Don’t Be Tardy alum told The Daily Dish she didn’t have “any problem with [her] ex,” but has found their split to be quite “hostile” and “weird.”
“I just want what’s best for my kids, and unfortunately, I’m willing to do whatever it takes,” Kim continued. “And I’ve tried many different avenues and different ways that we could coparent, but it’s impossible. So I just accepted that a long time ago.”

The RHOA alum said her oldest sons, KJ and Kash, were “the friggin best,” as they’re both thriving in prep sports.
“My boys, KJ, 14, he’s the first [freshman] in the high school’s history to play in varsity [football] and start, and he’s great,” she said. “Both of them are incredible in football… very, very incredible. Kash is top in the country. He’s a 13-year-old in 8th grade… It’s so fun to watch. And now they’re going into basketball.”

Kim said her twins, Kaia and Kane, were also doing well; however, she admitted that the former can be “a firecracker.”
“She is giving me a run for my money,” Kim said about her 12-year-old girl. “My mom thinks it’s great. She’s like, ‘You know what? Good, good… Kaia, keep pushing your mom,’ because I gave my parents a little bit of hell.”
As for Kane? Well, Kim said he was always by his twin sister’s side.
“Kane is just the sweetest, easy-moving,” she gushed. “The twins are always together. Where you find one, you always find the other, and they’re very sweet to each other, or they’re beating each other up, you know? Now that the boys are older and wrestling, it scares me. Whereas, you know, a few years ago, it was fine. Now it’s like, you got 6 feet, two grown-ass men wrestling. It’s, like… scary.”
