Drunk Teen Who Livestreamed 2017 Crash That Killed Little Sister Dies in Drive-By Shooting – Crime Online

A California woman who was livestreaming in 2017 when she killed her younger sister in a drunk-driving crash was killed on Tuesday in a drive-by shooting.

Obdulia Sanchez, 26, who was released from prison in September 2019, was killed on Tuesday. KSEE reported that a second person, a man, was injured in the shooting.

Witnesses heard about 10 gunshots around the time of Sanchez’s shooting death, according to KCRA.

In 2017, Sanchez, then 18, was livestreaming on Instagram while driving in Los Banos when she flipped her vehicle. Sanchez’s 14-year-old sister and her sister’s 15-year-old friend were ejected from the car. Sanchez’s sister died, while the friend was injured.

The 14-year-old’s body was seen during the graphic ordeal.

“Jacqueline, please wake up. This is the last thing I wanted to happen… I killed my sister … I don’t care. I killed my sister. I know I’m going to prison, but I don’t care. I’m sorry, baby … rest in peace, sweetie,” Sanchez was heard saying.

Sanchez’s blood alcohol content was 0.106 roughly 90 minutes after the fatal wreck.

Sanchez was convicted of gross vehicular manslaughter, DUI, and child endangerment and sentenced to six years and four months in prison. However, she served less than half of her sentence before getting parole due to good behavior.

A month after her release, Sanchez was arrested for leading Stockton police on a high-speed chase. Police told KCRA that officers tried to pull her over for expired registration but she drove away.

KCRA reported that second shooting victim’s condition is unknown. A motive in Tuesday’s shooting was not disclosed.
